Bovine Metropolis Theater is excited to partner with local non-profit organizations in a unique and entertaining style with “Comedy for a Cause.” A fundraising event that allows non-profits to socialize, fundraise and enjoy a laugh with their supporters; it is a terrific tool to rally supporters and raise much needed funds.

How does “Comedy for a Cause” work?
We partner with your organization and create a fundraising event that is as unique, exciting and as passionate as your organization. Your supporters will enjoy a great night of laughter at the theater and you will reap the rewards of raising funds for your cause.
Choose a weeknight when you want to host your event. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings have set shows in which you can pick. Wednesday and Sunday evenings are also an option that is based on availability. We can help you decide which show might be best for your audience. All shows are open the public. Our theater seats 76.
Pick a theme that suits your organization’s personality. Are your supporters quirky and adventurous? How about a costume themed event? Are your supporters crafty? How about selling arts, crafts & baked goods to raise even more funds before and after the show? Are your supporters more reserved? How about an elegant night with a reception afterward with a silent auction or raffle? You are welcome to bring any type of food and/or non-alcoholic refreshments for your supporters. We encourage you to have a donation jar in the lobby and host an information station to educate show-goers about your cause. The possibilities are unlimited.
How do you raise money for your non-profit organization?
Once you choose your night for your event (ticket prices for each show vary according to the night of the week) the Bovine will donate 50% or which ever is larger of your set “Comedy for a Cause” ticket price. Please see an example:
Thursday Night Show, “BMX”
Bovine Base Ticket Price: $8
Seating Capacity: 76
Comedy for a Cause Ticket Price: $16
Funds raised for your cause at 76 ($8 x 76) seats sold: $608
Want to make your ticket price higher? How about $25 per ticket?
Funds raised for your cause at 76 ($26 x 76) seats sold is $1292.
If you sell items or organize a silent auction, your donations for the night go higher. The possibilities are unlimited.
Is my non-profit organization a good fit for a “Comedy for a Cause” show?
We have learned that the organizations with the following attributes tend to have a successful “Comedy For a Cause” event.
Do you schedule social events as a regular part of your fundraising strategy?
Do you have an established database of supporters? Is it an active and updated list?
Do you utilize communication tools like email, a web site, mail and phone banks?
Do you market your events through social media like Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin?
If you can answer “yes” comfortably to these questions then “Comedy For a Cause” is a great fit for you.
